Wellness Committee

Over the last 2 years the Wellness Committee at The Nutrition Group has continually attended multiple state affiliated organizational meetings in order to develop their guidelines and standards for school districts to follow with establishing their wellness council so they will be in accordance with the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act of 2004.

The Nutrition Group has set forth standards such as offering a low-fat daily meal features, promoting 1% and skim milk and offering healthier snack choices in vending and snack areas to ensure that healthy, nutritious food choices are available to all our customers. The Nutrition Group has made it a priority to provide nutrition education to each customer while collectively working with the districts’ wellness committee, building administrators, physical education teachers, school nurses, and parents to promote good nutrition and physical activity throughout all aspects of the educational environment.
